Part Time Electronics Trainer/Representative
ActionLink is seeking Sales Event Representatives to conduct weekend product demonstrations from December 12, 08- Feb 3, 09. We thoroughly train our representatives on the following products and will be providing in-store assisted sales support for one of the leaders in the electronics industry!! HDTV Home Theater Cameras Camcorders Stores appreciate our interaction with customers to create enthusiasm for products which leads to increased sales!! The locations available for this position are the following: Please do not respond if you are not close to one of these areas! Manhattan, NY Monroe, NY West Nyack, NY Mohegan Lake, NY Yorktown Heights, NY Position Summary: The Sales Event Representative is responsible for all aspects of weekend selling support including but not limited to training, sales support, merchandising, demonstration and special events. The goal of the SER program is to ultimately increase sales. Position Qualifications: -Minimum requirement of a High School diploma with a preferred 2+ yr. college degree. -A minimum of six months training or sales retail sales experience in the electronics industry. -Have no prior issues in any retailer chain. -Prior proven sales ability is preferred. -Prior experience working on a similar structured program is preferred but not required. -Representatives must be willing to drive to an assigned store on a regular weekend basis and have reliable transportation to do so. Store locations might change throughout program but will remain within 50 miles of territory. ***Must own a computer with High Speed internet access to be considered for position. -Must be able to work shifts required on weekends. Friday evening 5-9 OR 6-10 pm, Saturday 11-3, and Sunday 12-4. These hours are not flexible. Please do not apply if you cannot work these shifts. Position Knowledge and Abilities: •Be computer literate with knowledge of basic internet navigation and ability to rename and attach photos to email or call reports upon request. •Ability to report sales successes. •Ability to work independently without constant supervision •Have a solid knowledge base of the technology surrounding the category of Home Theater, digital imaging, digital video, home audio, etc •Be forward thinkers and problem solvers •Be professional and presentable. The representative is an extension of the manufacturer’s team and needs to portray the image of the manufacturer. •Representative should be a self starter and be able to schedule time effectively. Prior experience of working on programs that are flexible is a plus •Representatives must be available for Friday evening (2.5 - 4 hours) as well as Saturday and Sunday selling days 4 hrs each day. Program is 12 hours per weekend •Representatives will need to work events every weekend Nov 28 -Feb 3. In the event of emergency, illness or need for time off, representatives must put request in writing detailing request need. All requests with the exception of emergency at least 2 week’s notice is required. Position Duties •Sales Support o Identifies sales opportunities at store level ( ad’s, inventory and traffic awareness) o Conducts sales events at store level o Insures inventory issues either too high or out of stock are communicated to immediate ActionLink supervisor and retailer appropriately. o Communicated weekly to supervisor on event details and challenges. o Training retail staff on products, messaging, sales enabling skills, promotions, during slow periods of traffic on weekends. O Event Merchandising - Places approved event signage and POP, as needed. Identifies additional signage opportunities at store level and communicates them to management. • Reporting o Accurately completes call reports, within 24 hours, if event is conducted on Sunday evening report must be filed no later than 8:59pm PST Sunday evening. o Indicates important issues and brings them to their manager’s attention o Identifies competitive advantages and submits ideas to combat at local level *Communicates through e-mail and web boards as needed to insure all critical time sensitive information is given to the proper management.
