Are you a creative person who is able to vision your final product? Bon Ton’s Fashion Photographer is responsible for shooting Fashion photography for all print-based media; plays a large role in directing talent, assistants and freelancers that can result in bringing projects in on budget.

The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. operates over 280 department stores including furniture galleries in 23 states in the Northeast, Midwest and upper Great Plains under the Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, and Younkers nameplates and, under the Parisian nameplate, three stores in the Detroit, Michigan area.


Key responsibilities:


* Photographs on-figure fashion merchandise for print advertising following creative concepts and standards that promote the corporations merchandise objectives and branding strategies.

* Works with Art Directors to interpret layouts for photographic style and content.

* Composes product and/or works with talent to interpret concepts with correct propping, lighting, exposure, tonal values (digital capture) and style.

* Directs actions of on-set talent and freelance personnel.

* Uses various computer software and techniques to capture digital images.

* Supervises select studio personnel and equipment.

* Directs actions of photos assistants and stylists.

* Participates in pre-production planning.

* Meets with Art Directors and team to discuss layouts, review concepts and to collaborate the creative direction for upcoming projects.

* Reviews, edits and tests images.

* Edits images to be sent to Art Directors for proper subject matter, style and consistency.


Requirements include:

* Associate Degree; or 3-5 years Fashion Photography training

* Must have Retail on-figure fashion photography experience.

* Must be proficient in small, medium and large format photography.

* Digital photography skills are essential; must be able to work in a MAC environment.

* Must be able to work with various types of lighting.

* Computer skills should include Photoshop, InDesign, Quark and various digital capture applications.

* Must be able to travel 5-10 or more weeks out of the year.

* Excellent communication skills are necessary.
